Automatic FTF Detection!

When you upload your "My Finds" pocket query, the site can now look in your "Found It" logs for a specific phrase such as "{*FTF*}" and then automatically add these caches to your FTF list. This makes it easier to keep track of your FTFs without having to continually add them to the list. If you'd like to use this feature, make sure it's enabled on the My Profile page and then specify the phrase you use in your logs to indicate a FTF.

New Well Rounded Cacher Option

The Well Rounded Cacher Challenge feature allows you to customize the requirements of a well rounded cacher challenge and then generate an image showing your progress. We've just added a new option so you can specify that your challenge requires that caches have been published after a specific date.

Moving Caches Excluded From Caching Radius Stats

Moving or traveling caches change location with each new finder. The finder takes the cache with them, rehides it and updates the coordinates on the cache homepage. These caches don't have a unique type on geocaching.com, but the cache page usually explains their behavior.

Since you might have found a moving cache in your hometown and now it's half way across the world, we've started to exclude these caches from the new "My Caching Radius" section. Please see our bookmark list of moving caches to find out which are excluded. If we're missing any, feel free to Contact Us and we'll add them to the list!

New Profile Section - My Caching Radius!

We've added a new profile section called "My Caching Radius!" The new section lets you set your home coordinates on a map and then shows your nearest and farthest cache finds; your most northern, southern, eastern and western caches; and graphs analyzing the distance of all your cache finds from your home. To enable the feature, go to the My Profile page, scroll down to the new My Caching Radius section, set your home coordinates on the map and then upload your latest "My Finds" pocket query. Since this is a new section, you'll also need to export your HTML code and re-paste it into your geocaching.com profile to display the new images. If you have any problems or questions, Contact Us!

Happy 10th Anniversary, Geocaching!

Geocaching celebrates its 10th anniversary today! You may have heard of, or even attended, some of the special "10 Years!" events that took place over the last few days. We've added the icons for this event type to the Cache Types I've Found and Well Rounded Cacher criteria. Remember, in order to see the changes, you need to upload your latest My Finds pocket query.
